Being able to connect with other children that have experienced loss is the most important reason for BYV’s existence. Through our events, we aim to create a safe and fun environment for our youth and their families to bond with each other and find solace in their shared loss. Our team understands the importance of connection during times of grief, which is why we organize various events throughout the year.
One of our most beloved events is the Bear Hug Bash. This event allows children to build a bear in honor of their late parent, providing them with a physical reminder of their loved one’s presence and comfort in times of need.
We also host Period Parties, aimed at creating an open space for girls who have lost their mothers to connect with father figures or male guardians. These parties provide an opportunity for dads to engage in “girl talk” with their daughters under guidance from our trained professionals.
